Ashraf El-Shihy: Suez Canal Industrial Zone is the crowning glory of cooperation
Dr. Ashraf El-Shihy, Former Minister of Higher Education and President of the Chinese University of Egypt (ECU) confirmed that Egypt and China are the oldest civilizations in the world. The two presidents of both countries supported enhancing the cooperation between them, clarifying that according to this cooperation, the Chinese Tiida organization has been found on the industrial zone of the Suez Canal and the Egyptian Chinese University.
He added in the signing ceremony of the bilateral agreement between the ECU and the Chinese Tiida organization in Egypt on Thursday, that Egypt is witnessing medium and long term cooperation with China, clarifying that the university was aimed to different education not only for seeking high quality but also elevating the student level to think out of the box, internship and field training in different fields. He also surprised the students and stated that according to the agreement” The distinguished graduates will have great job opportunities in Tiida organization”
Ahmed Radwan the executive director of the Chinese Tiida Group said that by the end of 2016, the Chinese Tiida organization has provided cooperation with Egypt through the Suez Canal industrial zone, he stated that over the past three years the joint areas between Egypt and China had been developed.
He added a brief about Tiida that it is consisted of two phases, the first has 32 industrial projects and 33 service projects with investments of $1.3 million, and the second phase was launched in January 2016 with a total investments 2 billion Dollars, aiming to get more than 150 projects and providing more than 40,000 jobs.
He clarified that the agreement with ECU included the establishment of common cooperation framework depending on scientific research projects, Students internship programs under the supervision of the Chinese Tiida Organization, and increases the opportunity of scientific cooperation with Various Chinese universities, enhancing scholarships with them and encourages establishing a language center for studying Arabic and Chinese in the ECU.
He added also that this is first step for more fruitful and prosperous cooperation in the future in all fields.
Dr. Karim Abdel Kareem, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the ECU said that ECU is the first Chinese university in the Middle East and that ECU is considered to be a citadel between Egypt and China regarding the industry, agriculture and services. She added that “We should think about technology transfer from China to Egypt and that ECU has ultimate goal to graduate productive students”
قالت الدكتورة كريمة عبد الكريم، رئيس مجلس أمناء الجامعة المصرية الصينية، “إننا نفكر فى توطين التكنولوجيا من الصين إلى مصر ولدينا الهدف الأسمى فى تخريج طالب منتج ايده فى العمل دائما”.
وأضافت عبد الكريم، بكلمتها خلال حفل توقيع بروتوكول تعاون بين الجامعة الصينية ومؤسسة تيدا الصينية فى مصر، اليوم الخميس، أنه تم إنشاء قلعة في مصر كرابطة بينها وبين الصين فى الصناعة والزراعة والخدمات، موضحة أن مصر ستصل إلى هدفها كما فعلت الصين من قبل.
